Letter from David and Dana Carozza
Sacred Selections was started when it became so evident that there were many wonderful Christian families wanting to adopt, but lacking the initial $10,000 ~ $30,000 that it requires to adopt!
At the same time there were more Christians coming to us asking if they could help the children and the couples wanting to adopt.
Thats when it came to us... We need to provide a way for anyone to donate into a Tax Free Fund, separate from the church, where those funds would go directly to help Christian families adopt.
Sacred Selections awarded its first grant in 2006 and to date there have been 15 grants awarded to Christians. 11 of those families now have children in their wonderful Christian homes!
Sacred Selections has taken us on a journey that we never could have imagined! We have been able to have a front row seat to watch GOD make some seemingly impossible situations come together so that a little innocent soul made their way to the arms of a loving Christian family.
To see the outpouring of love and work in a cause to help our Brothers and Sisters and little precious souls brings tears to our eyes daily.
We are reminded of a little 10 year old girl whose Daddy stayed up with her all night so that she could finish crocheting a blanket to donate for an auction. (By the way that blanket went for $280!)... or the family that decided to donate Grandma's dresser knowing that Grandma would be pleased to know that her dresser had helped a child reach a Godly home... and the woman who decided to send a letter to ALL the merchants she had ever traded with asking for a donation only to receive within 24 hours 35 items for the auction.
It is this ingenuity, passion and selflessness to help a child that has made 15 grants possible and 11 little souls a chance to know God!
We look forward to meeting you at the fund raiser! We assure you that it will be time well spent and that the outcome will have an everlasting affect on a child, a family and the family of GOD!

Did you know?
Did you know?
… That in 2007 in Platte County, 30% of pregnancies under the age of 20 ended in abortion? Platte County has the 3rd highest abortion rate in the state. Clay County is not far behind with 25%, while theMissouri state average is 17%.
… In May 2009 there were 9,200 children in state custody in Missouri?
… The average length of stay in foster care in Missouri is 22 months before the court will award permanency? That would be like you staying at the City Union Mission for 22 months.
…For those wishing to adopt, a Home Study is not a Home Study? There is an international home study. There is a domestic private home study. And, there is a state home study. Generally, the three are not interchangeable.
…Did you know that Missouri social workers disagree with the Biblical standards for child discipline?
…The average cost to adopt in the United States is $20,000 - $30,000?
… Almost daily the Kansas City Star runs an article on abortion – George Tiller, Phill Kline, Paul Morrison - ring a bell?
…Adoption is an alternative to abortion?
…The Bible mentions the fatherless 42 times. It is still within God’s character to have compassion on the fatherless despite the complexities of the American system.
Do we remember?
…The home was the first institution that God created?
…That it is the gospel that has the power to save?
…The curses associated with afflicting the fatherless in Exodus 22?
…James 1:27?
…Ours is a spiritual battle and this is OUR hometown?
…All things work togetherfor good to those who love God? Raising a child in the nurture and admonition of the Lord is His will.
… That we ourselves have been spiritually adopted and are a “sacred selection?”
…The Lord promises to do exceedingly abundant above all that we ask or think?
With that in mind, we join with David Corazza and implore you to accept his challenge to
1) adopt;
2) fund an adoption;
3) Put someone in contact with Sacred Selections. As he says, “Be God’s eyes and ears.” We will add two more challenges.
4) Write your state representative to loosen the policies and procedures that make adoption an extreme burden.
5) Last of all; join with us in song and spirit to benefit a good cause on the weekend of August 28th and 29th.
In Brotherly Love,
Tim and Natalie Burger

Auction Items Needed!
From the reading the Scriptures it is obvious that God's people often were skilled tradesmen. Consider the artisans like Bezalel and Aholiab who made items for the Tabernacle. Consider the description of the beauty and the skill that went into the building of the Temple. Even our Lord and Savior was a carpenter's son.
Today's God's people are likewise just as skilled and professional. Would you consider donating such items for the auction? Maybe you are a professional and would donate a service. Maybe you sew, or knit or build. If you think someone would buy it, consider putting it in the auction.
We need:
The item description
item market value
your name
We would like the items by August 21st to be entered into a auction listing. However, you can bring your item to the auction that night.
Send the above information to cjteapot@yahoo.com.
